Ray Kurzweil, Henry David Thoreau, and Obi Wan Kenonbi Walk into a Genius Bar.
Ray Kurzweil says, “Can you help me with my iPhone? Siri keeps refusing to run for president.”
Henry David Thoreau says, “I need to return this iPad. It is a pretty toy, not a tool. In fact, I am the tool. Each day I roll over and ask, ‘What’s the news?’ only to discover mere gossip. I have wasted my time reading screens. I must learn again to read people.”
Obi Wan Kenobi says nothing, gently tips the screen of his iPad toward the resident genius, and kills him in a single flash. Then, Obi Wan Kenobi vanishes into his Netflix app, leaving nothing behind but a brown robe in a heap on the floor.
This is a koan, based on the Zen saying, “When you seen the Buddha walking down the street, kill him!”
